FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
Cumbasil Mite
What is Cumbasil Mite?
Cumbasil Mite is a natural mineral powder for protection against ectoparasites such as red bird mites, biting lice, feather lice and contains no chemical additives.

Can adoption be encouraged?
Mix Cumbasil Mite with 1/3 potting soil. This mimics the natural structure of natural soil and can help with acceptance, especially during the initial acclimatization phase. Once the plants have accepted the soil, you can omit the potting soil later on.
Is it dangerous to inhale Cumbasil Mite?
Inhaling stable dust should generally be avoided. This is why the employers' liability insurance association recommends wearing a dust mask. Our Cumbasil Mite contains virtually no nanoparticles. This means that dust emissions in the stable are significantly lower than those of other competitors. If handled carefully, Cumbasil Mite poses no danger to the user. We believe it is very important for the animals that, if possible, no nanoparticles are constantly inhaled while brooding. You can quickly determine for yourself whether your current dust bath is rich in nanoparticles. If your product behaves like face powder on the skin, it consists of a very large proportion of fine dust. Cumbasil Mite has a very well-adhering grain structure, which enables us to be highly effective against parasites without the disadvantages of nanoparticles.
Staubentwicklung
Kieselgur → Meist sehr hoch
Will my chickens accept the dust bath right away?
The acceptance of dust baths varies greatly. Experience shows that they are accepted within a few days. Acceptance depends on various factors. The age of the animals, the number of animals and the type of husbandry all play a role. The easiest way is to offer our dust bath to the animals as soon as they are brought into the stable. As soon as one of the animals in the flock discovers the dust bath for brooding, then all the animals gradually bathe in it. If the animals are not used to artificial dust baths and brood a lot outdoors, it will take longer to accept them. Chickens are creatures of habit. If, for example, their freedom to roam is restricted due to confinement in the stable, they will instinctively look for something new to brood in. If the animals spend some more time in the stable, they will quickly discover the bath with Cumbasil Mite. After that, this new habit is learned and bathing in Cumbasil Mite becomes part of everyday life.
Can Cumbasil Mite be combined with other remedies?
Depending on the mite infestation, a combination of different control measures is often very effective. Coating the barns with diatomaceous earth or applying herbal extracts to the drinking water have proven effective. The initial use of chemical control measures can also be an important measure for maintaining the health of the animals. Since chemical agents often lose their effectiveness due to resistance with frequent use, we always recommend a resistance-free mode of action, such as Cumbasil Mite, as a precautionary measure.
How does Cumbasil Mite work?
Cumbasil Mite's particularly good adhesion to ectoparasites significantly limits their mobility. This makes the feathers difficult for the mites to penetrate. This effectively regulates mite pressure in the stable. Furthermore, the particularly good adhesion properties keep the dust content in the stable to a minimum.
Does Cumbasil Mite only help against mites?
Cumbasil Mite also helps against feather lice. Since these live as parasites on chickens year-round, it makes sense to provide your chickens with our natural parasite protection year-round.
KE herbal ferment for chickens
How long does KE herbal extract for chickens last?
KE herbal extract has a shelf life of two years when stored properly. It should be stored in a cool place (cellar temperature) and definitely not in direct sunlight. Otherwise, the herbal biology living within it becomes too active. As long as the fermented herbs don't acquire a foul odor, you can use it as a supplementary feed.
Can the herbal extract for chickens also be given to other animals?
You can also give the KE herbal extract for chickens to other animals via their feed or water. We also offer it for dogs, fish, and humans. Learn more at: KE Product Range
How long should I use the herbal extract for chickens?
Since the variety of natural herbs is rarely found in our cultivated meadows or in the animals' ranges, even during the summer months, we recommend this feed supplement year-round. Whenever your animals become unusually active during observation, such as laying fewer eggs or consuming less food, we recommend supporting them with KE.
Blood Shield
What is Blood Shield?
It's a natural herbal product that promotes the well-being of your chickens. Blood Shield ensures better sleep, less stress, and less nervousness.
What do the herbs of Blood Shield do
Blood Shield consists of a special herbal blend that influences the smell and taste of your animals' blood. These properties provide very quick relief and better night's sleep in the stable.
How do I dose Blood Shield?
Give your animals one capful of Blood Shield per liter of drinking water. Use this for 7 days.
To maintain your pet's health, give them 1 capful of Blood Shield per liter of drinking water once a week.
How do I best use Blood Shield?
In the case of acute mite infestation, you can combine Cumbasil Mite with Blood Shield by adding it to the animals' drinking water. Since Blood Shield immediately reaches all animals in the barn via the drinking trough, you can help the animals in a completely natural way with this special herbal mixture. Especially if the animals are not yet familiar with dust baths and have an acute red mite infestation, Blood Shield can provide immediate relief. Even with very high mite pressure, you can control such phases even more effectively with Blood Shield. And all without the use of any chemicals.
